"Ambiguities in definition" is the first subtopic of the "Major topics in criticism" section of that same Wikipedia page, though. (The narrowest definitions I've seen restrict it to a certain set of Latin American authors, even.) More generally, I think a lot of "real world setting with fantastic elements" stuff - certainly of the type that people might want to request/offer worldbuilding about - has consistent rules about how magic works etc. in a way that "magical realism" (under at least some definitions) doesn't.
