I've seen coms that allow you to offer podcasts, vids, etc., but don't let you solely request them, to avoid the issue you mentioned. I think it would make sense to require someone offering vids to also offer fic or art as well, but I don't work in either of those mediums, so *shrug*
As someone who wrote in-universe meta last year, I found it pretty valuable. Hazy memory, but I think maybe the distinctions within that category were a bit more confusing than the broader idea of it, if that makes sense.
Not entirely sure why relationship tags need any sort of preface, but I'm going to assume it's a code monkeying thing.
