Paksenarrion Series - Elizabeth Moon
Worldbuilding: Diplomatic Contact Between the 8 Kingdoms (Paksenarrion Series), Worldbuilding: Paladins of Saints other than Gird (Paksenarrion Series), Worldbuilding: Golden Company (Paksenarrion Series), Original Characters(s) (Paksenarrion Series), No Characters (Paksenarrion Series), Fanfiction, Meta
Worldbuilding: Diplomatic Contact Between the 8 Kingdoms (Paksenarrion Series),
There are bits an pieces of this in the books, but with all the kingdoms being so different and slow understanding coming over the recent series, there seem to be so many possibilities for stories here. There are so many wonderful possibilities for culture clash.
If you are interested in using canon characters here - there seem a lot of possibilities around Elis of Pargun; Ganlin of Kostandan and her possible marriage to Rothlin Mahieran; and all the characters of the court of Tsaia.
Worldbuilding: Paladins of Saints other than Gird (Paksenarrion Series),
We know from the books that there are paladins of Falk and Camwyn. However, these don't get explored in the books. Anything really about their lives, training or work (but please not too dark)
Worldbuilding: Golden Company (Paksenarrion Series),
Differences between it and the Northern companies? Backstory on Aesil M'dierra? If you want to write canon characters, there is always Burek's time there, or something around the M'dierra, Arcolin, Phelan, Tamarrion love quadrangle, or M'dierra - is Aesil intending him as her successor when she gives up or takes a back seat in the company?
Please no horror, nothing too dark overall (graphic depictions of torture, rocks fall everyone dies, etc), AUs that aren't true to canon (so I'm fine with AUs changing a decision someone makes or similar, but not different settings etc).

Sharing Knife - Lois McMaster Bujold
Worldbuilding: Other Continents (Sharing Knife), Worldbuilding: The Future (Sharing Knife), Worldbuilding: Lakewalker and Farmer Mixed Communities (Sharing Knife), Original Character(s) (Sharing Knife), No Characters (Sharing Knife), Fanfiction, Meta
Worldbuilding: Other Continents (Sharing Knife)
Are there other continents? What do they know about Malices? Are they embargoing the continent or why is there no contact? What is their view of what went wrong? Did have have and deal with Malices or where they spared? Do they have plans for what might happen if a Malice makes it to their continent?
Worldbuilding: The Future (Sharing Knife), Worldbuilding: Lakewalker and Farmer Mixed Communities (Sharing Knife)
These really go together for me, although mixed communities could also cover many in the South at the time of the books. What progress is made? What challenges are faced? Do they manage to harness more of the Farmer ingenuity and technology to make Malice hunting more efficient and safer?
Please no horror, nothing too dark overall (graphic depictions of torture, rocks fall everyone dies, etc), AUs that aren't true to canon (so I'm fine with AUs changing a decision someone makes or similar, but not different settings etc).

Babylon 5
Worldbuilding: Minbari Worker Caste (Babylon 5), Worldbuilding: Minbari Warrior Caste (Babylon 5), Original Character(s) (Babylon 5), No Characters (Babylon 5), Fanfiction, Meta
These two castes are very much in the background in the show and it would be very interesting to see how much what we are presented as fact about the Minbari does not really apply? (One odd example of this is the fact that when Delenn breaks the Grey Council she can bring a proportion of the warships to fight, but if the Warrior case don't support her and control the warships, how does this even work?)
Please no horror, nothing too dark overall (graphic depictions of torture, rocks fall everyone dies, etc), AUs that aren't true to canon (so I'm fine with AUs changing a decision someone makes or similar, but not different settings etc).

The Goblin Emperor - Katherine Addison
Worldbuilding: Embroidery (The Goblin Emperor), No Characters (The Goblin Emperor), Original Character(s) (The Goblin Emperor), Fanfiction, Meta
Contrast between embroidery as an activity for women nobles and the work that is done on the clothes? Do the nobles use the embroidery for such mundane purposes or is that all left to servants? This is very much a random, this sounds interesting, take it in any direction that grips you prompt.
Please no horror, nothing too dark overall (graphic depictions of torture, rocks fall everyone dies, etc), AUs that aren't true to canon (so I'm fine with AUs changing a decision someone makes or similar, but not different settings etc).

Middle Earth - J. R. R. Tolkien
Worldbuilding: DĂșnedain Kingdoms of Arnor (Middle Earth), No Characters (Middle Earth), Original Character(s) (Middle Earth), Fanfiction, Meta
Contrasts with Gondor? Do they have closer ties with ELrond and his people? Conflicts between the split kingdoms later on? Life under the threat of Angmar? Struggles of the exiles from Numenor to establish new lives for themselves? Differences between the kingdoms after Arnor splinters?
One reason for this being No Characters and Original Characters is that there are named kings, but not queens (except Firiel), and I really want to encourage you to pick any all the possibilities of canon characters, characters who logically must have existed, and original characters.

Worldbuilding: Succession Laws (The Goblin Emperor), Worldbuilding: Restrictions on the Drazhada (The Goblin Emperor), Nemolis Drazhar (The Goblin Emperor), Idra Drazhar (The Goblin Emperor), Fanfiction, Meta
It is noted in the book that a lot of people show an interest in the succession laws and it certainly seems like it is not as clear as it might be whether Maia's succession is totally valid. What are the rules - is the heir expected to be of exactly one lower generation where possible? Do heirs of age take priority over underage heirs?
For restitutions on the Drazhada, I've seen stuff reflected on how much their family restriction the women on the family (as it so important in the book). But hoe to the restitutions apply to the men? Are there active roles in the government or administration for them? Active roles within the court, or are they also stuck there to be decorative? Are there general written rules or is it at the whim of the emperor?
Please no horror, nothing too dark overall (graphic depictions of torture, rocks fall everyone dies, etc), AUs that aren't true to canon (so I'm fine with AUs changing a decision someone makes or similar, but not different settings etc).
